I was referred to JP Performance by a buddy I used to work with, and I’m glad I took his advice. With this generation of Silverado (2017 5.3), you’re almost guaranteed to run into one of two major issues transmission problems or engine issues related to AFM. I reached out to them directly and got a real response from an actual person, not AI, which already set them apart. They took the time to explain everything clearly and gave me all the details upfront. Coming from San Diego, I can honestly say these guys know their trade. They’re straightforward, honest, and trustworthy. They walk you through every step after your vehicle is picked up and provide documentation explaining what to do and what not to do ,during the break-in period. I’m now about 4,500 miles in since they completed the work in February 2026, and everything has been running great. I can confidently recommend JP Performance to anyone looking for a reliable and honest shop.

Good price. If you haven't already, follow their social media (Instagram). Honestly what convinced me to use this shop were the vids/stories they posted. I only have 2,000 miles on the OEM rebuild, but so far so good. They kept me apprised of the inspection, diagnosis, rebuild and install via their app/website. They had a quick turn around as this is all they do everyday. Even saw a few other makes/models in there also... but mostly Chevy. Fingers crossed Chevy keeps making a crap transmission so this place grows and grows.

I don’t have any complaints, good customer service, always kept me updated on what’s going on with the truck step by step. If I could give 10 stars I would. I was referred here by my good friend to get my tranny rebuilt by jp performance , he also had his Tahoe tranny rebuilt by JP performance. I was more then glad they had my truck diagnosed and the tranny rebuilt in less then a week . Jp performance was a life saver especially because our Tahoe is a daily driver and the soccer Mobile for my kids. I’ll definitely be coming back again if I have any other tranny issues. And I will definitely refer anyone that needs tranny work done to JP performance.

Since the very first call I made to get Information on a warranty claim I knew these guys knew their stuff. Spoke with JP and he was very knowledgeable. He told me exactly how the process was going to go and let me tell you he didn’t miss a thing. The entire process was so very easy! Being a warranty claim you would think it’s going to be a headache but it was not. They took care of everything I didn’t even have to deal with the insurance! The shop provided me with a link where I was able to check live updates on the work being done on my truck. Live updates with pictures and context. Overall I’ve never felt more comfortable leaving my truck anywhere. These guys have the experience, the customer service and the common sense that many shops lack. Needless to say my truck’s transmission runs smooth and great.
